- Välkommen till Gullmarsplan, a mixtape by Alexis Weak (though his myspace URL looks like Alex-is-Weak). Swedish (I think) raps over electro leads to awesome-isity.
- In Media’s Eye, Young Mayor Says He’s Learning. NYT takes a short, soft look at Pittsburgh’s mayor.
- Ukiyo reviews the First Public Mayoral Debate. Pittsburgh blogger d’s take on local politics. Full disclosure: I’ve ridden bikes with d and think he’s a good guy. I’ve never ridden bikes with the NYT editors or Mayor Ravenstahl.
- When Good Interviews Go Bad. A painful, painful interview with Sigur Ros. It starts out slow and ends w/ uncomfortable swearing. (aside: other than Bjork, I never really got Icelandic music. Some of it is interesting, but not enough to generate the weird buzz it has. All I can figure is it’s like “oh wow, it’s a small crazy country with all this music.” Personally, I give that award to Jamaica.)
